OTHER INFO

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Age/Birthdate

To compete, kittens must be 4 calendar months old — must have been born on or before August 29, 2017. To be allowed in the show hall, kittens must be 3 calendar months old — must have been born on or before September 29, 2017. Note: A TICA litter registration must be provided to the Entry Clerk at the time of entry. Any kitten without proof of age will not be allowed to compete in the show, nor will it be allowed in the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Health

This is a non-vetted show. Every cat that enters the show hall must conform to normally accepted health requirements and be up-to-date on its vaccinations. Front and back claws must be clipped. Cats from households with contagious or infectious illnesses within the last 21 days, or from households that have been exposed to such illnesses during that time period, are ineligible for entry. Cats with suspected contagious or infectious illness or with parasites will be removed from the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Registration with TICA

For most registered breeds and household pets: With the exception of new breeds, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat's first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

For new breeds: According to TICA Show Rule 203.19, all Preliminary New Breeds (PNB) and Advanced New Breeds (ANB) must have a TICA registration number prior to entering any TICA show. No PNB or ANB may enter a show with its registration "pending".

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Household Pets

Household Pets from 4 to 8 months old are entered in the Household Pet Kitten class and can be either altered or unaltered. Household pet kittens must be 4 calendar months (not 16 weeks) of age to be shown. To compete, kittens must be 4 calendar months old — must have been born on or before September 29, 2017.

All Household Pets over 8 months of age must be altered (neutered or spayed).

Please contact the entry clerk if you are not sure how to describe your cat's color, or if you have any questions about how to fill out the entry form.

Registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in your cat's first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Co-Owned Cats images\uparrow.jpg (751 bytes)

Cats co-owned by members of two different households are eligible for the multi-cat entry discounts only if a Xerox copy of the cat's TICA registration accompanies the cat's entry. The registration must show the names of both co-owners. (If you are entering such a cat online, you must fax, mail, or email a copy of the registration to the entry clerk in order to receive these discounts.)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Substitutions images\uparrow.jpg (751 bytes)

Substitutions are $10 per subsitution, same owner. No substitutions are allowed after the show has closed.

BENCHING & CAGES

Cage size: The club' s cages are 21" tall, 21" deep, and 45" wide and have a 3" divider in the middle. Each cage can be easily be used as one large cage, or it can be divided into two cages if you need to separate multiple cats. Every "odd-numbered" entry (first entry, 3rd entry, and so on) includes a double cage space.

Personal cages: If you plan to use your personal cage, please ensure that you will have enough space to accommodate its width. If your cage is wider than 45", you may need to purchase additional space. The maximum depth for a personal cage is 24" deep; if your cage is deeper than 24", it will not fit on our 24" deep tables. If you plan to use your personal cage, please note this on the summary sheet.

Other Cage Requirements: The top, floor, sides, and back of the cage must be covered. Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

Exhibition/Sale cages are double cages and are available to exhibitors who have at least one cat entered for competition, provided space is available. There will be absolutely no sales allowed from carriers. If you are bringing cat(s) for sale, you MUST purchase a " For Sale" cage and comply with all TICA rules regarding maximum numbers allowed (i.e., no more than 2 adults or 4 kittens in a double cage).

You must complete an entry form for each kitten or cat for sale or on exhibition. With the exception of cats available for adoption by rescue organizations, no cats or kittens are allowed in the show hall unless they are listed in the official show catalog.

Other Cage Requirements

  • The top, floor, sides, and back of each benching cage must be covered.
  • Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

BENCHING REQUESTS

Only one benching request is allowed. If you list more than one, only the first request will be considered. The entry clerk will make every attempt to bench your cats per your request; however, due to space limitations and show hall configuration, the club does not guarantee that all benching requests can be honored.

Handicapped exhibitors will receive preferential and free end-of-row benching, if requested in advance. All other end-of-row requests will be benched on a first-come, first-served, space-available basis at a cost of $15.00.

Other Important Club Rules

With the exception of cats available for adoption by rescue organizations, no other cats or kittens are allowed in the show hall unless they are listed in the official show catalog. No cat or kitten sales are allowed from carriers.

MISCELLANEOUS: Show Catalogs

One show catalog is included free with your first entry. Additional show catalogs are $5 each; order on the Summary Sheet. No catalogs will be available for sale in the show hall. The show committee accepts no responsibility for catalog errors due to illegibility or mistakes on the entry form.

MISCELLANEOUS: Ring Clerks & Ring Stewards

If you would like to clerk, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet. We will do our best to place clerks with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. (We try, whenever possible, to keep 2-day clerks in the same ring all days, as this makes it much easier to bench clerks near their rings.) Clerks will receive lunch, plus $35, for each full day of clerking. Clerks will be paid after clerking; please do not deduct clerking fees from your entry form. Preference will be given to those in the clerking program.

The club is also in need of good stewards for the show. If you or your child would like to steward, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet. We will do our best to place stewards with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. Stewards who do two rings will work in contiguous rings. Stewards will receive lunch, plus $20 per ring, for each full day of stewarding.

MISCELLANEOUS: Food and Litter

Cat litter will be provided in the show hall. Please bring your own cat food, food dishes and litter pans.

There will be food concessions available for purchase just outside the show hall.

MISCELLANEOUS: Liability

The Maine Event, TICA, the City of Olympia, and the hotel (Hotel RL) will not be held liable for injury, loss or damage to cats, exhibitors, property of exhibitors, vendors or other such persons or property in attendance.
